The Whisky Statement is here to take you through the far-reaching global phenomenon that is Whisky. Within this website, you will find honest reviews, fun stories, and the best spots in Colorado to sip a whisky or crush a cocktail.
The Whisky Statement is run by Daniel Hill (aka The Whisky Accountant), an Accountant by day, whisky drinker and bar surfer by night. The Whisky Accountant seeks delicious drams from around the world from bourbons that have slumbered within the sweltering rick houses of Kentucky, to delicate Japanese Whiskies from deep within the green lush forests of Mount Kaikoma, to the peat monsters hailing from the coastlines of Islay.
A Coloradan born and raised the Whisky Accountant pays homage to his home state by sharing with you the best bars and cocktails from around the state.
Similar to how an accountant uses the financial statements as a source of all knowledge, the Whisky Statement aims to be your source of knowledge for all things whisk(e)y. Forever inquisitive and always thirsty, join along on this journey through the world of whisky. The Whisky Accountant holds a Whisky Ambassador accreditation from Whisky Ambassador Ltd., the world’s first accredited whisky training program, and has more to come! At The Whisky Statement, you will always find (semi)professional unapologetic takes and opinions on all things whisky.

Introducing the grading rubric!
10 = A world-class life-changing dram
8-9 = Top notch, must own multiple bottles of it
5-7 = Middle to upper-middle of the pack, enjoyable and approachable. I would buy one bottle and go from there
3-4 = Its fine, just fine. Would order at a bar if it was all they had, but wouldn’t buy it
1-2 = Mix it or give it to those house guests you don’t like very much
0 = This swill will rot your soul. Send it back to the dark underworld from where it came
